A career command and control officer, Michael spent over half his career in operational, combat ready units. He commanded at the detachment and squadron levels and deployed twice to the middle east, where he was responsible for managing the control of all coalition aircraft in the Iraqi theater. He relocated 10 times during his 21-year career and spent 10 years overseas (2 years in South Korea and 8 years in Italy). He is a graduate of the US Air Force Weapons School, a graduate-level instructor course that provide the world's most advanced training in weapons and tactics employment to officers of the combat air forces.
